In their countries they can do whatever they want, it's not our business. And maybe it's still less insane than a homo "marriage" in some European countries. This (the homo "marriage") is happening in Europe and it's ashaming. And this is something we have to do something against, because if we don't, maybe one day some intoxicated parisian libertine/liberal relativist will claim the right to marry some three-year-old girl (or boy), as some muslims do.

It is probably just a formal marriage, which will be consummated only when the girl reaches sexual maturity.

In Medieval Europe there were such cases of kings "marrying" little girls from other kingly hosuses in that manner.

BTW, Weird that she's wearing a western style of wedding dress while it takes place in a traditional Muslim environnnement (cf the arranged marriage), in a Muslim country. I mean, it looks like a traditional wedding at first sight is not so if it has to be the same (standardized, the American way of "thinking a wedding") in every places of the world.

This is not that uncommon in gypsy community/ies in Croatia (Europe?). Maybe not with three year olds but with ten year olds... I don't know what authorities are doing about that but I know they are reproducing like rabbits (ze gypsies).

Good observation, Carnyx, the dress looks very Western, it may be well some media hoax. They might have paid to the parents of the Afghan girl to pose in front of the camera dressed up in these garments, just for the sake of "making story".

I'm not saying such things don't happen. It does and it is not a breaking news at all for us two. But as you said, there's something bizarre. Like... you know, like the "bride" had to be identified as one by anyone on earth.
It it's not a fake, either traditional Muslims are westernized, either such arranged marriage are more linked to tribalism than to religion.

No matter who she's married to and what they will be doing together, it's a violation of her freedom of association and her liberty to choose her own destiny.
