I am excited to participate in Stirpes. I feel at home already, even though I am obviously a recent arrival. I wonder if anyone is interested in the writings of GRECE (Groupement de Recherche et d'Etudes pour la Civilisation Europeene founded by Alain de Benoist) and the writings of those such as Tom Sunic and Michael O'Meara? In the meantime, here is my own proposed definition of nationalism:
"I propose an intuitive, subjective characterization of nationalism, as felt in the individual's heart and in the non-rational part of the individual's mind (rather than a definition derived from an external, rationalistic, objective, perhaps Cartesian viewpoint): Nationalism is a profound sense of belonging to a community much wider than family or village, wider because this larger community and only this larger community can stand, in the individual's mind, for a beloved cultural and ethical framework beyond the mundane concerns of family and village. When the individual travels to lands outside the nation, or encounters outsiders at home, he immediately and involuntarily feels a sharp contrast in the way the outsiders regard, value, and resolve the world. It is by this differentiation that the individual clearly forms in his mind the demarcations between his national community and those of outsiders. Of course, this demarcation is usually gradual across regions and borders, but the national line (with its institutional emobodiment) is in fact drawn somewhere, and that line is all the individual has to concretely, and, conveniently in most cases, represent the differentiation he feels internally. Whether his own cultural and ethical framework has been achieved in reality or not, that framework can inspire one to towering deeds of self-sacrifice. Men, despite the Enlightenment's centuries-old attempt to create a rational, materialistic man, still are willing to die for ideas, yes, for national glory." Looking forward to interacting with you all, Dolmen |

Hello and welcome, Dolmen!
![]() We had already texts written by members of the "Nouvelle Droite" posted on Stirpes on several occasions. I personally have a high appreciation for GRECE and Nouvelle Droite, because of their intellectual openness and unreadiness to fit into preconceived reductionist schemes based on polar opposites. Though I do not agree with them in everything, of course. Welcome again. |
