Hello, Stirpes.

First of: My apologies if this is a little much for an introduction. But I felt that I cannot introduce myself without making this clear. And I feel it's rude to start a discussion in another subforum without introducing myself first. A bit of a minor dilemma I guess.

I have been lurking these forums for a while. I am still unsure however on whether I belong here. I want to make one thing clear though. I am not asking for approval of what I am doing with my life; I will do it regardless.

I however wish to know if it falls under what is considered the nationalist morality on this website. Since I do admit this forum is very tempting to me. I agree with most things I have read so far. Though there are even more things I haven't read, and then there are those unwritten rules and ideas that you don't see until it's too late.

I am born Flemish. My family is Flemish. Pure stock as far back as local records go. I was raised in a small village with only 15000 inhabitants, yet the past years it grew to nearly 20% of those being muslims. Surprise surprise why I call myself a European nationalist having lived in multicultural **** most my life.

I left to Finland as an exchange student months ago. Here I met and fell in love with a beautiful Finnish woman of Nordic ethnicity. Most likely I'll end up emigrating after a short return to Belgium for graduation ceremony.

In a few months I've learned more Finnish than most immigrants here have learned in years - and I'm still learning. Many people don't even recognise me as a foreigner. In stores, with the doctor, if they (rarely) use a word that is new for me and I need to ask for a translation to English - they always act surprised "But I thought you were Finnish!" (My written Finnish is still horrible, but I'm working on that too)

Apart from that woman I am also falling in love with the country itself and its culture (though I'm not blind to the few flaws of Finland either, no country is perfect).

So would it be wrong from a nationalist point of view for a Flemish and a Nordic Finnish woman to live together in Finland, as close to being Finnish as possible, speaking Finnish, obeying Finnish laws, whatever. I respect Finnish culture, and I know I'll always be little more than a guest here. But even then I feel I can build up something here and hopefully pay back this country one day for welcoming me.

I realise that you aren't asking for anyone's approval, but for the sake of things, I do not have a problem with Europeans resettling in other European countries (on a minor scale), provided they respect the culture of said country.
There is one thing, though; you seem to have the term Ethnicity mixed up. Your female acquaintance would be ethnically Finnish, not ethnically Nordic, and your own ethnicity would be Flemish. There is only one ethnic Caucasian here, and she is in hiding.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what you are doing. You are trying to assimilate and become part of that nation. One of the women in my family is married to a Finnish man and he is a wonderful person that respects Italian culture very much and appreciates it.

Although I can't condone immigration of any kind, you do seem to be making an effort, unlike most of those who are guests in anothers country. So i'll have no general problems with you.

It's not a word used in daily language - not by me anyway. So I used it in the only way I was familiar with it, and that's the way American TV shows use it. But I understand what it means now.

I think no European will have any problem with intra-European immigration at a small scale. Unlike what happens with mass migration, this other type of migrants (like you) don't generate any kind of problem, and easily assimilate into the country's culture, and even more when the immigrant is a fellow European.

I wouldn't have any problem with immigrants in my country if they were 1% or less of the total population, and with immigrants I include both European and non-European, always they were not concentrated in different focuses becoming significant unassimilable minorities.

The problem comes when we suffer an invasion like we're suffering in my country, where in the last twelve years the immigrant population increased from a few tens of thousands to almost six million (14% of the population). Even if we wanted we couldn't assimilate that amount of people, but what's more important, we don't want them here, as preservationists we can't accept that, as that would generate an impact that would change our nation forever.

I doubt anyone here on Stirpes has a problem with your migration considering your good attitude, but I do sympathize with the quarrels it might give you philosophically or ideologically, if you have nationalist sentiments - but such sentiment should be directed toward the real problems, the masses of migrants who are not willing to assimilate, but instead settle down and invoke their own nation on a tyrannic scale in a foreign country.

Tryggr, I feel your question is a non-issue.

Intra-European migration and inter-marriage between European populations has always occurred at some level. I don't see a problem with it, as long as it happens on a relatively small scale and as long as it does not cause some sort of identity crisis, either with yourself or your future children. But reading your introduction, I doubt that would happen.

And I'm glad you find our country pleasing, we'll never get tired of hearing a foreigner's opinion about us and our land, especially if it happens to be positive.
