Default Newbie from the U.S.

I sort of stumbled onto this site while I was trying to find out about Celtic influences in Croatia, the homeland of my paternal grandparents.

I'm a teacher of English as a Second Language to univeristy-bound students from all over the world. I have varied interests, which include travel, linguistics, cooking, reading, teaching, etc. I live in Denver, Colorado, USA - where the Rocky Mountains, which stretch from the border of Mexico into Canada, rise in majesty from the great plains of the middle of the U.S.

If anyone has information about the Celts in Croatia, I'd love to hear from you. Now I have to figure out how to navigate this website.

Kate

Well, you can ask our Croatian Slavo-Celtic member, Plethon.

Hello!

Note that this is a European nationalist board. We discuss matters pertaining to the preservation of the various European identities. Not pan-Europeanist though. Every nation should retian its own distinct ethinic identity and national sovereignity, in the view of most of us here.

Also note, since you have "liberal" in your profile, that most of us here are neither Liberals nor sympathise with Liberalism in any form (whether economic or societal).

Celtic influence in Croatia? Might have been quite strong in pre-Slavic times. Especially regarding the Celtic tribe of Japodes, which inhabited the nothern part of present day Lika. Pannonia was allegedly also - or at least in part - inhabited by Celts. There is a hypothesis too that the Dinarids (racial type) are the descendants of Celts.
