Tons of interests and hobbies: I am very political and my political views are being influenced by my religion (Wiccan).. and as a consequence I used to spend some time on a Dutch forum writing about my beliefs and defending my idea of a Pagan political party, when I am not doing that and when I have some time off, I play CN, furthermore I don't read books I EAT them: I just can't stop reading when I have opened up a book or a webpage (preferably a book), I like being outside, walking through the forests outside my town, travelling the country or all the four corners of Europe during holidays (that is.. when I have some cash to spend) and drinking pints and socialising with my friends.
I am addicted to music, can't live without it (I only like the sound of rain better).My musical taste is also varied: from the Corrs, Guns N Roses, Metallica all the way down to Laïs and other folk bands. And yet another passion: history, that means in particularly the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as the Viking era..

@Ariets: It means "Lawspeaker in ancient Icelandic. I have quickly copied the explanation of the name that I wrote on The Allthing.

A ‎lögsögumaður was the chairman of the Icelandic Alþingi (Allthing- basicly Parliament) during the years of the medieval Commonwealth of Iceland, his roles were to recite the Law (it was never written down, hence the English translation "Lawspeaker"), and to arbritrate in conflicts.
He had no formal powers. (so he was not an early form of a Prime Minister) As I am thinking of establishing a Paganist party in my homecountry, I found the title appealing.

Indeed, and I believe that social democratic party is wrong there. Awfully wrong. It's the political duty of the government and the society to regulate the economy and make sure that the conditions are created in which a society can prosper: and with that I mean, a society that can uphold it's principles and maintain it's traditions.
I have no wish to see my country absorbed by international capitalism or the stupidity of marxism. Rather I take a more Eurocentrist third way. Preserving ones cultural, ethnical and spiritual heritage is as vital for the existence of a nation and for Europe then solidarity amongst the people.

@Carnyx... yes I turned wiccan at the age of 19 and one of the people on The Allthing actually advised me to look on and gave a few links of an Ásatrú organisation in the Low Countries

What would be a more Eurocentrist third way? Sorry to ask what might seem as obvious, but I've found Continental Europeans --and much more so Central Europeans-- to have a somehow more different view of Europe than other Europeans.

More visible in Flemish and Dutch, who they seem to have a fix idea that there is an unquestionable European identity, and while they do not disregard their own identities, it seems to me as if they see them more as a regional variation than anything else.

This is contrasting with the exotic ones of the lunatic fringe front, who freak out and switch like a pendulum from white nationalism, to nordic supremacism, then to pan-germanicism and [apparently from what I've been told of one of Skadi senior Staff members] now to pan-Aryanism or something along those lines.

But leaving aside this miniscule phenomenon, which is likely to clinge to pan-Europeanism in the future, I believe that there is something in the very nature of those countries that push them towards pan-Europeanist positions.

Maybe the fact that they are on the border between the German(ic) and the Romance (ie. French) world? After all, the present-day Belgium and Netherlands are historically heirs of the Duchy of Burgundy, a political entity loosely connected with the Holy Roman Empire, a duchy which ceased to exist (except as a title) at the end of the 15th century, after the death of Philip IV. It stretched from Switzerland to the North Sea and was powerful both culturally and economically. It was situated exactly between the Holy Roman Empire and the Kingdom of France and it was most probably plurilingual (several Romance and Germanic dialect plus Latin).

After Philip's death the title and the northern part of it (Low Countries) passed to the Habsburgs, while the core of Burgundy was annexed by France. This ancient history, combined with later intensive contacts between the United Provinces (the Netherlands) with England, maybe gave way to the birth of some pan-European spirit there. Maybe it was for this reason that it was assigned to be the centre of the EU (and the NATO), while Strasbourg (also part of ancient Burgundy) harbours the seat of the European Parliament. Maybe it was precisely because of this ancient Burgundain spirit that the ruling forces of the world assigned to those regions to be centers of their supra-national organizations.

I beleive that there is a part of it that belongs to what their identities were in the times of the Holy Roman-Germanic Empire, and a part that belongs to a merchantilist identity.
