Default Refugees should care for elderly

Refugees should care for elderly

Aftenposten
July 30, 2006

The Conservatives believe that refugees may offer a solution to the challenges posed by the looming wave of elderly people in Norwegian society.

"We must do something to meet the growing number of elderly," deputy Conservative Party leader and former finance minister Per-Kristian Foss told TV 2 Nettavisen.

Foss believes that existing introductory programs for refugees should be geared up so that the newcomers can be educated to fill much needed positions in the health sector.

Foss believes Norway must start preparing for an ever growing elderly population, combined with declining unemployment.

The former minister pointed out that many immigrants already work in Norwegian hospitals, nursing homes and in home help services.

"Many nursing homes in Troms (County in northern Norway) would not have managed without Asian or European manpower," Foss said.

And of course, Mr.Foss is isolated seen right here.

The social structures has changed unhealthy, the familys position are unfortunately in dissolution, causing rootlessness for the youth, and poor care for the elders. These two factors alone, used to be in a symbiosis, what to a good share keept society together. The clans.

In lower classes the clans are, according to the nature of the subject, more dissolved, beside the understanding of the value of it, it also costs money to uphold the ties.

The variated quality of care for elderes, and healthcare for elders, are far from to accepted standards, according to the potential for it. Some solves that by taking with them their pensions abroad, and investst in new homes in better clima for the gout, and where one gets much more back for the money.

Many northern norwegian pensioners have moved to Sweden, there are towns and villages partially populated with Norwegian pensioners in southern Sweden, where property may cost down to a fifth of Norwegian prices. Climate is not so hard, and food and luxury articles are cheaper,. Cars costs about the half.

Also many move to Spain, and live well on their pensions there. Some Norwegian communes and organizations have solved their responsibilities by buying properties for, and organizing some care for Norwegian pensionists living full or or part time in Spain.

These solutions are however for those with ressources.

Anyway..
How do the Spanish consider receiving so many pensioners as Spain does from the north? It is a kind of immigration.
