As if raising one's concern about immigration (ie. incoming migration) is going to be of any help anymore in Britain.
At the very least they should start by getting concerned with emigration (outgoing migration) of White British. Not just the numbers who have already left, but also the numbers who have admitted that their goal for the future is leaving the country. It signals that Britain has been overflooded and that it has reached a point of no return. I'm willing to accept any argument based on workable possibilities, proving me wrong here.

You forgot The Netherlands. It's on the same terms as Britain if not worse.
The crackdown of those two may provide a deterrant for other countries, if it happens within a time schedule.

As serious as it can get.
It is not just the numbers counted as in a multicultural society, but the degree of "assimilation".. which does not count as much as in the immigrants being assimilated in the native society, as it does in the natives being assimilated in a society transformed by the immigrants. Here, the factor Islam counts and it is different in both countries. While not denying the degraded state of things in France, I believe that there are still grounds for hope if crackdown of England (and The Netherlands) does an impact.

Indeed, and in fact, I think that France is much more affected than Britain :
For exemple, results from the 2001 UK census show that 87.5 per cent of the population of England and Wales (seven out of eight people) gave their ethnic group as White British. Such ethnic census are forbidden in France, but for comparison, the percentage of British Muslims (2.7%) is way below the estimated percentage of French Muslims (around 10% of the population - 6 million persons). And if you count non-Muslims non-natives, the percentage of non-Europeans with French citizenship increase probably around 15 or 20% of the total population... Quote:

You are right in saying that the French Republican model towards populations is assimilation. But not just towards immigrant populations. This is something that predates in centuries the immigration problem. However, it is precisely that characteristic of a significant Muslim majority in the immigrant population that makes the Republican model of assimilation fail.
