Catalonia and Madrid are the most industrialised territories, followed by Valencia. The difference between Catalonia and Madrid here may lie in the Europeans resident in the coastal areas.
Andalusia is a case apart, since it is not industry (except for the tourist industry) but agriculture that attracts immigrants there. Or that would be my analysis at first sight. However, I've looked at the news article again and the percentages per provinces give a different picture. The highest percentages of immigrants per provinces are in Alicante (Valencia), Almeria (Andalusia), Girona (Catalonia), The Balearic Islands, Murcia. Alicante's biggest industry is tourism and it also has a high number of European residents. In Almeria and in Murcia it is agriculture. In the Balearic Islands it's tourism. Girona is the one that makes less sense. It does have agriculture and tourism. But it is probably due to the fact that it is the gate of entry of immigrants through Europe.. The funny thing is that EU's policies are directed towards the destruction of the agricultural sector here, with food products in Europe depending increasingly more on exports from third countries. Thank you for making me notice.

Not sure which food products are being imported from Canada, if any. Meat perhaps?
Those third countries which I refer to are countries like Morocco and Turkey, which enjoy a special trade status.

Places? Toronto, Montréal, and Vancouver have about half of all immigrants in Canada. I think more than half. But the three most popular provinces are probably Ontario and Québec (being at the centre of pretty much everything), but not in the North of either of these two, mostly in the south... And British Columbia, because it borders on the Pacific Ocean
