Following Germany’s defeat in May 1945, the United States and the other victorious Allied powers imposed on the Germans a massive “reeducation” program designed to drastically alter the vanquished nation’s basic outlook and collective self-im­age. This program, American officials insisted, was needed to firmly implant democracy in the occupied nation, and to insure lasting peace in the region The real long-term goal, says the author of this book, has been to systematically eradicate German national pride, and replace it with a sense of shame. This campaign, he writes, was “a diabolical brainwashing plot directed against one of the most decent, peaceful, disciplined and hardworking peoples on earth.” The success of this corrosive campaign, Schmidt contends, is manifest in historical distortion on a massive scale, and in a postwar German policy of “national masochism.” Its aim is the spiritual annihilation of the German people. If it con­tinues for much longer, he argues, the result will be the ef­fective genocide of the German people. Schmidt, born and raised in Germany, served in 1944 and 1945 with the famed Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler SS Panzer Division. During the final year of the conflict he fought in the “Battle of the Bulge” and other campaigns, end­ing the war as a twice-wounded corporal and squad leader. For most of his adult life he has lived in the United States, and is a naturalized US citizen. He is also the author of a memoir, SS Panzergrenadier: A True Story of World War II.

We are currently living the age of the American Empire, and it is true, that America after the WW2 imposed its propaganda re-education to the German Nation irrespectivelly if they were Nazis or not. This type of education is currently being cultivated all over Europe and has the purpose to make Europeans feel guilty and valnurable. Besides of Germany, it has started in the UK, Greece, Poland, Serbia, Italy, France, Spain or in any case to countries that currently have a great potential towards the European future. I also remember back to my youth in Greece, that many Greek ( ! ) , were attacking almost every aspect of Ancient Greece due to their disaggreement with the age of ancient Greece, and this early situation, it demonstrated me, how much this policy of re-education was working. I don't want to speak also what effect that policy had to me, due to my German connection.
Currently, and according to some personal sources, this sort of policies are active in the "liberated " Irak.

I am an American and a veteran and this sort of reeducation has changed our own ideas of what personal freedoms and libertys are in our own country. Our own government is riddled with Gentile hating, ultra pro-Israeli Jews. George Bush's cabinet is full of them, for instance Paul Wolfowitz our deputy secretary of defense and also President of The World Bank. Anyone who stands up to thier passive aggressive hatred of white cultural Christians is labled an anti-Semite, such a convienient term for them. It's sad to see what has happened to the German people. They seem now relgated to self hatred by law. In my opinion any government who dictates to it's people what they can or cannot say and think is worthy of revolution. Freedom of speech is supposed to be a very fundamental right for all Americans but there are those who would love to crush it in our government with "hate speech" laws designed to target a very specific European pride that many of us in the United states feel.

I assume you're a veteran from Irak, right? How come you've been reeducated by America? Since you're american, a reeducation should have not been necessary.

Sure, it's happening in Serbia right now by the media and government labelling everything and everyone that sounds patriotic as "fascist" and by billboards all over Belgrade telling Serbs to not forget nor to repeat another "Srebrenica".

In the United States there were some definitions (I would not argue if they are right or wrong, since they are still historically active ), over the freedom, and the United States have based all of their culture on them, forming a Legal and Cultural Framework where the citizens can adopt them and theoretically prosper. After the civil war, and continued until now, there are directives that have been embedded to this framework, and have the purpose to "curve fit" that framework in favour of the Jewish minority and affiliates. Re-education is simple, the adoption of these directives and the propaganda (I will use this term in its origin, propagate) to all the citizens of USA. The education of that framework starts at 5 and ends at 8 years old, and then the education of these directives is continued until the end of life of the person.
