New Media Player
AnyMedia is a new code modification available that allows to display videos on a post. Until now, Stirpes had been using a simpler modification that allowed to display only .swf videos from youtube and google videos. This new modification allows to display videos from more sites and in other formats too. However, it must be noticed that this code modification is still in a beta stage, and that it may fail with some of the sites or formats that is supposed to support. Usage To use it, type the full path to the video file embedded in these tags: [MEDIA][/MEDIA]or use the provided button to this end: ![]() Example If you type: [MEDIA]http://youtube.com/watch?v=vAcrIr84OdQ[/MEDIA]it will render: [MEDIA]http://youtube.com/watch?v=vAcrIr84OdQ[/MEDIA] Notes (new media player) At present, the image and PDF files are not displayed properly, so I have disabled that option and the classical image tags: [IMG][/IMG](or through the button) should be used.Old Media Player The old Embed XHTML code modification that supports only youtube and google videos, wil still be maintained and upgraded for Stirpes This makes obsolete the document How To Embed A Video Into Your Posts The tags for the old media player are: [YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE]for YouTube (or use the button), and:[GOOGLE][/GOOGLE]for Google Videos (or use the button).Notes (old media player) The latest upgrade provides a +/+ feature (above the top right corner of the video screen) to maximize/minimize the screen, when watching the video. It also allows to add a comment/title to the video, with the following format: [youtube="vAcrIr84OdQ"]Alatriste Film Trailer[/youtube]which renders:
This works both with youtube and gvideo (google videos) Please, note that with this old Media Player you have to use the portion of the video code of the URL, aftter the "v=" (eg., vAcrIr84OdQ), *NOT* the full path (eg., http://youtube.com/watch?v=vAcrIr84OdQ). In the latest upgrade it is said that full paths are valid. But this still doesn't work for some reason.

Important on youtube and other video censorship: interesting videos can easily be saved on your pc with the firefox extension downloadhelper.
It integrates into firefox with a little button nearby the address bar, it will download most web embedded videos. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006 direct install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...per-3.2-fx.xpi
