Actually, one forum that I have been thinking for some time that would be interesting is Ethnology. Travel accounts would fit in it, if it is to describe the people.

I was thinking of a forum with information of activities, sights, restaurants, hotels, shopping, and so forth. Users could also write travel guides with anecdotes and good advice. I'm sure there are many users in Stirpes with up-to-date information.
You could even turn it into a geography forum. That way you will help Americans learn where European cities (besides London and Paris?) are actually located. ![]() It's good to have an ethnology forum too. I'm looking for something more than describing the people which is of course interesting as well. I want a forum where one can write about the smells, sounds, sceneries, street furniture and architecture. Basically impressions of a city. I understand if not everyone find travelling and comparing places as much fun as I do. Stirpes users, tell me what you think and come up with ideas. I'm not opposed to it. I guess that we should hear what other members have to say about it.

It sounds interesting. Then I'd have somewhere other than the Atrium to put my accounts.

Specification: The Ethnology idea of Mynydd as well as a separate "Travel" subforum in the Atrium to discuss travel plans/make suggestions/review things/etc.

Im not a frequent traveller myself, but I would like to read more about other people experience in different countries. In future I plan to visit Iceland and Scotland so I am all ears.

That's a great idea. I fully endorse it. We need innovations.

Yes, if it deals with ethnology, travel anecdotes, descriptions of peoples and such. No if it's about shopping and stuff.

Then let's ban women from this subforum. Not that there are many at Stirpes, anyway.

I guess that what we are trying to define would be something like Ethnography.
Ethnography would include Social and Cultural Anthropology, as well as Ethnology. And of course Travels as a method of observation would fit just as well. If it is travels for anything else, it should go in the Atrium forum.

It's a nice idea but it would have to be mixed with something else.
The section would be very small just dedicating it to tourism/travel topics.
