Default Name change of Stirpes forum?
If you have to choose new name of the Stirpes forum what shall it be.
To be honest the present name very much sounds to me and objectively looks like Stripes.
And that brings not that pleasant connotations like striped blouses and jailbirds and etc.
If i could rename it I would call it "Colliseum Forum"
What is your better idea?

Why don't you share your opinion? Or may be you're afraid of Mynydd?
I don't think the idea is that blasphemous, after all its not about to change the whole forum, just its name?

I don't think it is ever going to happen anyway.
Any way there is no reason why we shoulden't speculate.

Nova Tribuna doesn't sound bad.

Stirpes, again. I assume that you know what Stirpes means and its relation to the discussions and the orientation of the forums.

Incidentally, that is what no few Americans commented when Stirpes started a few years ago. But, as it happens, the forum is not intended for Americans and Stirpes is a Latin word, not an English one.

You probably mean Colosseum or Coliseum. Two possible spellings as far as I know. If accompanied by the also Latin noun Forum, it makes little sense if you know the meaning of each of them.

No, it is just your personal taste which does not have to coincide with others. And which, for consistency sake, it would also have to be accompanied by a change of domain name and a consequent loss of ranking in search engines.

Indeed, as noticed by O. S., "Stirpes" is closed to "Stripes" and there's a reason why that very name has been chosen. It is Mynydd's secret means to keep Americans away from this forum ; as they all have dislexia -it's no secret for anyone of us- they never type the name properly but "Stripes" instead.

I like the name Stirpes (Europaeae) very much, the meaning of it is very deep.

"Stirpes" is a good name. "Colosseum" is exclusively related to sports and Christians being eaten by lions for me. "Nova Tribuna" sounds like a Spartacist or Trotskyite newspaper.

I find Stirpes the more appropiated name for this forum, maybe some people find it elitist

Alternative names: Gens Europae, Euromondo, Our Heritage... but Stirpes sounds better
