Link to an overview of stavechurches. Photos and information. These were mostly buildt in the period between æsatru and christianity. Much of the ornamentics are prechristian, and reflects ideas from both the former and the latter mythologies.

Thore Hund,
as an old faith follower, I wonder where do you stand in regards church burnings happening in Norway in the early 1990's?
I believe, one of those burned down was an old stavechurch. Was it Flesland stave church in 1994?

Fantoft Stavkirke was burned down my a nameless psychomaniac, that later became a murder and a backstabber, now doing time for killing his comrade with 16 stabbs in the back , 3 in the neck and 2 in the face.

For burning other churches, I dont care... The Norwegian Police Church Arson group also ivestigated me because I had periferly contacts with suspected circuits...

Stavechurch burners, I would hand over to the police, simple as that.

I think his jail term is almost done, he's about to walk out pretty soon - maybe this year?

Mybe not...as late as last year he was warned by Norwegian prison authorities for still bragging of the stabbing (21 stabs, whereof 16 in the back) of his comrade...

Not much, really.
I appreciate his music a lot, but I'm hesitant as to what happened back then. It was a juvenile act, no doubt, but his motivation, however childish, was noble in that for once the long-haired metal lot was putting their money where their mouth is. Standing for what they believe in, etc.
I've got an impression of him as an unbalanced man, as most great artists always tended to be, of course. But he's quite intelligent and honest in his own way, too.
It grieves me to see an old stavechurch's ashes, though. And the murder of that man Øysten Aarseth is not to be written off easily.
