Yes, they are models. One even has figurines which, from far away, they resemble persons.

Apparently Der Elsasser started the thread to convert it into a pissing contest.

And for it he is using anything imaginable, including models... or even Occitan castles destroyed by the French and Occitan cities (like Carcasona) with their names frenchisiced.

Der Elsasser, here you have a site with more castles that you can add to the glory of France: Lego® Castles by Robert G. Carney, Jr. M.D.

Or maybe you would like to add this other one:

The first pic looks very realistic but on the second and third you can see the surroundings so...

I suppose we don't have any Swiss people around here and I take it upon myself to share with everyone the beauties of Geneve. I lived in Geneve and my father still does half the year so it is kind of like my second home. Or third, now that I live abroad.. anyway. And by the rules of nationality that appear to be in use I should be half Swiss.

One of the streets in the Old Town section, the cathedral is visible in the background:

A fountain out of many, this one facing one of the oldest squares of Geneve, filled with cafes and outside tables (the square is also partly visible in the photograph above):

The aforementioned square and a cafe view:

Another street, same area:

Stairs in the Old Town. The shop is probably one of the many antique stores that are in the area. The Old Town area is full of these staired, narrow streets which is a good thing in the heat of the summer for they are usually shady:

Still another street view (can you tell I love these old streets?):

View from one of the towers in the cathedral:

An interior view from the Cathedral St-Pierre, the main Calvinist church, probably in the whole world. Of course the building itself is much older, dating back to the 12th century:

Another:

An exterior view of the cathedral:

[Interesting fact about the cathedral here: http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200503/s1322448.htm]

The view of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) from rooftops:

The famous Jet d'Eau forming a rainbow, and some of the most expensive apartments on the lakefront in the background. The hotel that Empress Elizabeth of Austria was staying in (and was stabbed to death on its pier) is probably one of the buildings in the background. I'm not sure I can't see them very well:

Boats on the lake (no shit ):

Jet d'Eau at night. It's actually nothing more than a very strong hose -well kind of- but look how beautiful it is. Of course, Swatch is nothing more than a cheap plastic watch but they're beautiful too:

There's a Luna Park every year on the lakefront in the summers (usually from June to September). I was on this damned thing one night as well and it was a nightmare. So, don't do it kids.

Some guy's tomb, lighted at night, also on the lakefront, but on the other side of the road. Forgot whose, most Genevoise don't know either:

I didn't take these photos, I found them online. I have some photos with me here myself but I couldn't be bothered with scanning them. If I do, I'll post them as well, although in most of them there is either me, family member or a friend, so not much touristic value.

I think we do have someone from Switzerland, but he only posts in the German section so far.

Anyway, beautiful
