Arrow The Most Beautiful German Words

As determined in a competition held by the German Language Council and the Goethe Institute in October of last year:
1. Habseligkeiten - (meager) belongings, possessions
2. Geborgenheit - security, shelter
3. lieben - to love
4. Augenblick - moment
5. Rhabarbermarmelade - rhubarb marmalade
And the favorite from the children:
Libelle - dragonfly
I find all of these quite beautiful, but my personal favorite is probably Augenblick - or, from the right person, lieben.
