I know Nashi have clashed with the National Bolshevik Party in Moscow. To me they just seem like government thugs that will do their dirty work whether its in the european interest or not.

I don't like Lithuanians, I've met some decent ones in my lifetime, but out of the blue my first impression of a Lithuanian is a negative one, and don't give me that blank slate crap, everyone has a bias.

Well, that's a good old Russian attitude! You'd be happy to send us all to Siberia again, wouldn't you?

Ha, Estonia, you people proud of what your country has become?

Lithuania and Estonia and Latvia, the Baltics are all much worse off now than when the Soviet Union was around, and I'm not a communist but at least I know when to admit what's the lesser of two evils.

That's crap.
If they were doing so well, back in USSR, they'd never want to secede..
They were oppressed, and left Soviet Union for a good reason.

I don't know if they were better or worse off, but I do know that whatever the case it is their right to be independent and sovereign nations.

Why would you want to deny them that?

How is it better in Russia? From what I understand, the non Russian ethnic minorities of the former USSR are growing into majorities while the number of ethnic Russians is dwindling.

I'm sure that that's not the best for Russians.

Oh please, don't act like a victim. Until now, most of Russians at Stirpes were ultra delicate and positive towards Balts (unlike Balts who talked a lot of offensive and derogatory things about Russians). Let's not start a war. We are neighbours after all and will be neighbours forever.

What do you mean? Why worse? Estonia's GDP is the biggest in post-Soviet countries, they are doing pretty well (economically).

Maybe these are messages coming from the planet Antiterra which Vladamir Nabokov warned us about.

Quote:
The story takes place not on Earth but on a world called Antiterra, with a history that is different at various points. North America is mostly a part of Russia, for example, and electricity has been banned nearly since its discovery, so that airplanes and cars exist, but television and telephones (as we know them) do not. The setting is thus a complex mixture of Russia and America in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Furthermore, our Earth, the real world, is a widely believed in as a sort of fringe religion or mass hallucination. Van's own specialty as a psychologist is with those people who believe that they are in contact with us.

K, when people ask me why I'm a fascist I have to make examples like these, no matter how " oppressive " the Soviet Union was, I mean my family certainly didn't have any problem with that, course my grandfather was a Soviet Airforce Pilot, but anyway. No matter how " brutal " it was the economy and social structure were never as horribly lackluster as it is now.

I have visited many countries, including much of eastern europe, and former Soviet republics, such as Ukraine, my mother was shocked at how much that country had gone to hell, it's facts, I mean you don't hear me saying how much worse off East Germany is now, because it ain't, but the Baltics states are, look at the suicide rates.

I agree, surely they'll try to install also in Russia an organization like Otpor in Serbia...

One thing is for sure: AIDS, glue-sniffing and massive heroin addiction came only after the soviet Union. That is the other side of the medal. Capitalism and liberlism do not set you free - their totalitarian style is more subtle, but equally brutal in the long run.
