Default The Oxford Genetic Atlas Project - mitochondrial and Y-chromosome data

Gil's Note: if you are interested in Y-chromosome and mitochondrial data of Britain from 1996 - 2002 the direct link is at the bottom of the post.

The main source of data for Blood of the Isles comes from DNA samples collected from over 10,000 volunteers throughout Britain between 1996 and 2002 under the auspices of the Oxford Genetic Atlas Project. Volunteers were recruited in a variety of ways, mainly through blood transfusion donor sessions, but also through visits to schools, science festivals and agricultural shows, or by mail. We did not collect in Ireland.

The Data

The mitochondrial and Y-chromosome data from the Oxford Genetic Atlas Project (OGAP) are published here as pdf files.

Um, just out of curiosity, is there a book or website somewhere that explains this? I understand it's genetic data but I don't quite know how to interpret the number sequences......
