Unhappy Help me understand this - Big question(s)

Ok, first of all I want to say I have read the following threads:
Y-Haplogroups
MtDNA and Y Haplogroups

Second, I'd like to have my DNA tested. I want to know more about myself and all this stuff. The thing is I need help deciding which test to undergo.

Polak said (in one of the threads above) that in order to know about racial makeup, autosomal testing is the way to go. Could someone list the websites of the companies from which I can buy such a test?

I may also be interested in that thing about the seven daughters of Eve, but I really can't find the website that sells this test (I remember it minutely explained the origins of each daughter). Which kind of test is this one, exactly? Is it mtDNA or Y-haplogroup?

Rusalka took one of these tests, I think it was from familytreeDNA, but honestly I think their website is such a mess for a layman like me to make up his mind about which test to take. Rusalka, you're Hb1, but what is this? This is a two-layer question: is "Hb1" the haplogroup, the haplotype, or what?; And what do those things really tell about someone? I read somewhere that haplogroups are the "branches" and haplotypes are the "leaves", but I can't find a website that says "oh, Hb1 is a group from (insert region in Europe) and its characteristics are this, that and that". Is there a website linking the haplogroups (or haplotypes, I don't know what I want) to regions, tribes or whatever? What to they link to, exactly? - what do they tell or represent? And is there somewhere I can read the distributions of haplogroups on Europe countries?

Those are not rethoric questions; I'd really love if someone could explain me about these things. Apart from Rusalka, I think Alkman, Vitor and Polak know about this too, maybe one of them could explain it to me in, uh, simple words?
