I am very bored to look up my original reply in this thread, so I guess I have to give it again
![]() My favorite cuisine is the mediterrenean, it is the healthiest and most delicious food for my own taste. Being more of a vegetable lover, I don't particularly enjoy the meat-centered cuisines of the north. ![]() I especially enjoy greek (the cretan part, especially, which is mostly based on tomatoes, olive oil and feta cheese) and italian (pasta) cuisines. I like the French as well, and I also enjoyed some Scandinavian dishes, especially the ones that are based on salmon. Russian food, the few dishes I've tried...not my taste ![]() Polish, I haven't really tried it. But I've tried Hungarian and it rules I like some of the German dishes but dislike sausages as a whole, and Spanish is ok but usually a bit too spicy for me. Now, there ![]() |

I wonder if you are talking about Spanish food or you ate some Mexican enchiladas in California

European Mediterranean food is very nice, nothing too heavy on the stomach.
As for cheese, the French ones for sure. Some European cheese I've tasted were not that great compared to the hundred ones we can find here. Feta e.g. is rather tasteless as is mozarella. Guda is... hmm special. |

Probably Italian. I like the pasta dishes, mozzerella cheese, risotto, pizza and ice cream. In fact, there's a funny story involving Italians, ice cream and Wales. In the early 1900s some Italian who was trying to immigrate to America caught the wrong ship ended up in South Wales dock. He eventually settled down and founded an ice cream company using Italian recipes. You can still buy this ice cream today, the company is run by his grand daughter.
... and British food is really bad, it has to be the worst in Europe (after Finnish and Saami cuisine ). I never understood the reason for it being so shitty, especially if you consider the many groups who moved to and had a cultural impact on the island in the past. Don't get me wrong, I like English real ales and Irish stouts, but for the most part, the food is just bland and disgusting.

Bulgarian Recipe – Shopska Salad
Ingredients 1 onion 500 gr tomatoes 150-200 gr ripened cow or sheep cheese in slices 1/2 dl oil 1 small hot pepper 1 cucumber, salt Directions Peel onion and chop finely. Wash tomatoes, peel, cut into round slices, mix onion and tomatoes, pour over with oil, salt and add peeled cucumber cut into cubes. Mix all slowly, sprinkle with grates or crumbled cheese with small pepper cut into rounds. This delicious salad is a frequent accompaniment to maize flour dishes (cornbread, green vegetables pie), to baked or cooked potatoes. French toast, tchevapchitchi (grilled cork-shaped ground meat) and the like. It would be perfect if you add some Serbian chebapcheta (meshana skara) and a glass of grape rakia ![]() |
