The Irish are one of the most ancient nations that I know of at this end of the world, and are from as mighty a race as the world ever brought forth.
For it is certain that Ireland hath had the use of letters very anciently and long before England; that they had letters anciently is nothing doubtful, for the Saxons of England are said to have their letters and learning, and learned men, from the Irish.

Ireland can indeed lay claim to a great past; she can not only boast of having been the birthplace and abode of high culture in the fifth and sixth centuries . . . but also of having made strenous efforts in the seventh and up to the tenth century to spread her learning among the German and Romance peoples, thus forming the actual fountain of our present continental civilisation.

Philistine!

Cabbage should be boiled until soft, then lightly fried until it starts getting crispy. Then serve it with mashed potatoes and slices of bacon

And this is coming from the member of a people whose greatest achievement is fried Mars bars?

Mashed potatoes I love anytime of the day, but the rest doesn't sound too healthy. Anything that's been boiled too much can't be good anyway, or why would you boil it? Stands to reason.

In any case, I'm sure you have had the great joy of trying a fried Mars Bar, it's like going to Turkey for vacation and not eating a sish-kebab. Oh hang on, actually the Brits do go to Turkey and eat English breakfast and drink beer and nothing else for a fortnight. Very traditional sort.

There is a difference between boiling to death and merely cooking but you come from a land where they boil everything together in one pot till they go white so I'm not blaming you.

I think it would be interesting to have all of you around the dining table eating your preferred foods. A caterer's nightmare!
Kimchi is absolutely wonderful. Like I said, I'll eat just about anything. I like to think of myself as a human vacuum cleaner of sorts. All kidding aside now, kimchi is spectacular. Very spicy.

Eels are good too! I remember when I was little I'd eat them with my dad. We also would lay on the floor, open a can of anchovies and just eat them. Looking back.. what the hell was I thinking?

I said Japanese food was horrid looking. I did not mention taste. Actually Japanese food is always presented well as far as crockery and garnishes. I mentioned Korean Kimchi as I have seen it made once too many times. A disgusting process and very smelly. The finished product is O.K Lots of things smell rather horrid whilst being made eg sauerkraut, at least those I saw in Hungary made in those pots.

When it comes to food I look at it from my professional point of view in microbiology and public health.

I love Pasta in general, especially Lasagna and Tortellini. Seafood is great. Fish is not bad, sometimes I love it and sometimes not. I absolutely adore Smoked Salmon. Rabbit is awesome and is actually a Maltese Culinary Tradition (we are so evil). Gozo Cheese and Maltese bread with Kunserva (Tomato Paste, it is actually a Southern Italian thing which like many things in Malta is also perfectly Maltese) and Olive Oil is something I adore, especially in summer with some dried and salted tomatoes. I also like Octopus occasionally.

Foods I hate? At the moment I cannot recollect what I hate.

This is just something brief.
