EU Membership Increases the Corruption in Bulgaria
Published on: 10.06.2008, 19:28 Author: Kristalina Ilieva 37.2% of the Bulgarians consider that after entering the European Union the corruption in Bulgaria have increased. ![]() According to the inquired the main reason is the new opportunities for corruption practices, connected with the EU funds. One fifth (21.5%) of the inquired think Bulgaria have lost from the EU membership. 32% share the opinion, Bulgaria have earned from the Union's entering. According to 49.8% of the Bulgarians the life standards have lowered, in the words of 37,9% there is no change. Only 9,7% think the conditions of life in Bulgaria have become better after the EU membership. 89.9% find the raising of the living standards as task number one in front of the Bulgarian Government.
