Kurt Waldheim is dead
Former UN chief Kurt Waldheim is dead
 ( Waldheim in the middle, with sunglasses...) VIENNA, Austria (AP) - Former UN Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim has died. Waldheim was elected president of Austria despite an international scandal about his World War Two military service for the Nazis. Austrian media say he died today at the age of 88. He served as UN chief from 1972 to 1982, and was elected Austrian president in 1986. But his work in both posts became overshadowed by revelations that he belonged to a German army unit that committed atrocities in the Balkans during World War Two. Source 88?  .
