Albanian drug gang detained in north Bohemia - press

Usti nad Labem, North Bohemia, June 1 (CTK) - The Czech National Anti-Drug Centre (NPC) has been rounding up members of an Albanian gang of drug dealers for a number of days, the regional edition of the daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) said today. The police have seized some five kilograms of quality heroin and weapons among the gangsters, MfD said. The daily said that the gang was based in Teplice, North Bohemia. NPC spokesman Bretislav Brejcha has confirmed that the police action is continuing, without elaborating. Local drug addicts are well informed about the action, MfD writes. Lubomir Slapka, head of the local anti-drug K-centrum, said that according to the drug addicts, the police crackdown was among the biggest conducted in the Czech Republic in recent years.
