The arson attacks occurred around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, targeting suburban branches of Bank of Cyprus, National Bank of Greece, Alpha Bank and Emporiki Bank, police said. Windows were broken, and automated teller machines were destroyed.
An office of the governing party in Alimos was also damaged by assailants, who broke a window and throwing gasoline bombs inside, police said.
Police were investigating the incidents, but had made no arrests.
Such nighttime attacks have become common in Athens and other Greek cities in recent months, often with young anarchists targeting symbols of the political and financial establishment.
