The
PNR - Partido Nacional Renovador (National Renovator Party) has made the most daring move since the 1974 leftist
coup d'êtat. Something rather normal in French Le Pen's
FN propaganda is highly dangerous in a strongly liberal freemasonry-socialist-dominated country. The words Freedom, Democracy are constantly repeated. But here you are free to think as a Democrat only. PNR, a political party based on the French
FN has very little support in Portugal, due to very restrictive state policies concerning far-right parties.
The centre of all attentions this week was this placard:
Enough of immigration
Nationalism is the solution
Have(plural) a nice trip
PORTUGAL TO THE PORTUGUESE Goal 2009 (legislative elections)
In a while, leftist politicians urged to condemn the bill, naming it racist, xenophobic, hate-inciting. The parliament approved a unanimous condemnation. Lawyers are going crazy, looking for constitutional infringements. The Public Prosecution spent one entire day analyzing the case, but the Attorney General finally announced with dismay that nothing could be done.
The advertisement was soon defaced and, in an astonishing provocative move, the most famous humourists of these sad Portuguese days ("Gato Fedorento") placed side by side a bigger bill, grossly attacking the Nationalists:
The stupid idiocy goes like this:
More immigration!
The best way to annoy foreigners
is forcing them to live in Portugall
Welcome! (plural)
WITH PORTUGUESE WE CAN'T MAKE IT Nationalism is crap
Let alone say that this quartet which our youth venerates so much is known to be very kindred with far left politics, despite being momma babies. Nonetheless and curiously I happen to know both the man in the Nationalist placard and the quartet-of-idiots. The former is a humble worker, and has contributed with a hard effort to this bill. The latter goofs are revolutionary rebel yuppies who never worked for real and spend the days drinking beers in a pavement café for the
burgeoisie not very far from my apartment; there you can see famous soccer players, VIP's, in-crowd people, etc... doing nothing.
P.S.: Needless to say that you can notice property damage in the PNR placard. The placard is huge and pretty elevated, it would be impossible to blot it without ladders. By the way, this place is always crowded with vehicles 24 hours a day and there's a police station 20 metres away... I wonder if it was not PNR's advertisement, by this time, people would have been arrested on account of defacement. Democracy.
