What Israelis did in Lebanon was atrocity on a mass scale. They killed whole families traveling in cars and vans, they destroyed the entire south Lebanon infrastructure. Being member of an organization does not mean this organization is beloved. Fact is the former red-gren government did much to disrupt and foil NATO policy and military effords. NATO is not an organization you easily can resign from, same with EU, the pressure would be too intense.
