As a child I used to love reading, and looking at, the Asterix books.
I used to love reading Tin-Tin books aswell as a child,but thats apparently racist now and has been consigned to the adult section in bookstores?? It is indeed a crazy,crazy world.

I hear that there will be a cinema production of Capitán Trueno, in English, in 2009.
 I wonder how it will be. Surely much lighter than the comics that started in 1956 and lived on through generations of Spaniards. Not with adventures against Moors and Mongols as here: The Gaul of it! Asterix too French, says watchdog ... or like this other!

I loved Asterix as a kid, those books helped me get turned on to history.
I loved Asterix in Britain as it portrayed the ancient britons living in semi-detached iron-age huts! The news story turns my stomach - absolutely disgusting. Knowing the french they'll be rioting over this and good luck to them!
