Germany - I regularly go there, mainly in Baden-Württemberg; my favorite city is München though, I almost feel at home there - especially during Oktoberfest.
Can't really express what I feel in Germany, but I like it a lot. Italy - I visited Tuscany, Liguria, Roma, Lumbardy, Napoli and Sicily. My favorite place for vacation. As Strengthandhonour said it, everything is great in Italy, girls, food, weather, architecture, language, landscapes, wine, ... I'd like to have a second home in Tuscany if I could. Cyprus - Very nice island. I liked Aphrodite's rock's area and some beaches. I heard North Cyprus was more beautiful though - that's a shame the Turks occupy it. Hungary - I visited it 4 years ago. I was really amazed when I went to Budapest - that's probably one of the nicest places I've ever seen (and virtually without any non-European excepted some Gypsies). Austria - I visited it 4 years ago as well, before Hungary. Vienna is a very beautiful city, I liked the "atmosphere" there. Splendid mountains and landscapes too. Switzerland - I sometimes go there (one or two times a year). Nothing special (beautiful landscapes though, as Austria) Spain - I didn't really visit it - I was just here to buy some Red Bull and cheaper boose (when I was in vacation in Occitania). (I also visited the Canarias but I was 4 years old or so)England / Ireland / Turkey / Greece / Israel / Egypt : I was too young to recall something ![]()

Canada - Not enough restaurants, but beautiful country.
Mexico - Way too poor, and the food was bad. Bahamas - Nice food (broiled conch), nice beaches, but too many beggars. That's it, LOL. ![]() |

Austria - Very beautiful scenery. The place was very clean and the people were somewhat aloof but friendly. I liked the food there, especially the Italian night
![]() Belgium - Visted twice (once for a day & once staying overnight). I liked Brussels. The little bars and snack outlets were nice. Good atmosphere. Cyprus - I went on holiday there. Probably one of the best holidays I've been on. That said, it was a bit rough. Even with the Brit soldiers banned from the centres, I still narrowly missed a few fights (damned Loyalists) and saw a girl being put in an ambulance after being half-strangled by some guy. Let's not mention the drive-by shooting either. In saying that, I'd probably go back.....wearing some kevlar body armour ![]() Denmark - I enjoyed my time there. Pretty flat and unremarkable landscape. Some of the peopel were a bit aggressive and unfriendly. Reminded me of home in that sense ![]() France - Spent a few days in Paris. The weather is a lot like the UK. I didn't get to see as much of it as I would have liked. The people were a mix between friendly and rude. The food was terrible . I'd like to go back and see more of it though.Spain - One of my favourite countries. Sevilla was my favourite place. Great weather, great architecture, a real feeling of history and culture about the place. I considered staying there for a while. USA - Spent time in Florida. Nice weather but too humid to be comfortable. Very commercialised. Pretty much what one would expect America to be. The people were friendly enough.

The traditions of the Irish people are the oldest of any race in Europe north and west of the Alps, and they themselves are the longest settled on their own soil - Edmund Curtis (A History of Ireland: From Earliest Times to 1922) The Irish are one of the most ancient nations that I know of at this end of the world, and are from as mighty a race as the world ever brought forth. For it is certain that Ireland hath had the use of letters very anciently and long before England; that they had letters anciently is nothing doubtful, for the Saxons of England are said to have their letters and learning, and learned men, from the Irish. - Edmund Spenser (writer, and British Government Official in Ireland, AD 1596). The renaissance began in Ireland seven hundred years before it was known in Italy. And Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland, was at one time the metropolis of civilisation. - Arsene Darmesteter, Professor of Old French and Literature Ireland can indeed lay claim to a great past; she can not only boast of having been the birthplace and abode of high culture in the fifth and sixth centuries . . . but also of having made strenous efforts in the seventh and up to the tenth century to spread her learning among the German and Romance peoples, thus forming the actual fountain of our present continental civilisation. - Heinrich Zimmer, Professor of Celtic and Sanskrit, Member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences |

Italy: Loved it. The food was great and the people very friendly.
Greece: Quick visit. The women were real HOT but generally speaking they seemed a bit unfriendly, specially in small shops (souvenir shops). Germany: Good and Bad. The good part were the hot chicks, the crazy mates who kept paying us beer even after my cousin passed out and hit the head on the table, the pubs/bars had a great atmosphere and the older people were incredibly nice (we stayed in a hold Hotel of sorts near the border with Switzerland). The bad part were the younger people, specially a b*tch who worked in a sort of coffee house and we almost expected her to start yelling "Auslander Raus!" or something (funny tidbit, she was "darker" than any of us.... )Switzerland: pretty is the adjective I would use, specially the mountain area. Geneve is a bit crowded with turks though and Lausanne has a rather large community of portuguese, probably explain why people always asked me if I was looking for a "permit"... France: too much to comment about, overall the food was "acceptable", the chicks were good too and the weather was nice in the northwestern region. Normandie was great, lots of green fields and woods. Spain: I visited mostly Galicia/Galiza, a quick travel between the Extremadura and Madrid and stayed in Lloret de Mar for a week. Galiza is amazing, definitely a place where I would like to live, the people were very nice and I didn't saw many foreigners (foreigners as in illegal residents...) Madrid was awfull, the people reacted pretty bad and pretended they didn't understood me, probably a bit of anti-portuguese feel. Some mates where almost robbed and we got into a fight with some dumb madrillenos. Barcelona and Lloret were great. The people were very nice, they tried to speak in a manner so we could understand and overall the chicks were...hm.... oh well... As a side note, Lloret was invaded by Brits, Swedes, Norwegians and Germans.

Haven't visited too many, but I can't say I disliked any of them. Smth worth mentioning... (other than my own, of course):
France - short visit to Paris, didn't get to see as much as I had wanted to. Overall good impression, nice people... Got a nice Eifel Tour trinket as a souvenir. I'd like to visit it again and see more regions. Poland - interesting, what can I say. I liked the medieval air of some areas, cathedrals etc. Weird language though ![]() Switzerland - loved it. Wonderful scenery for a hardcore 'alpinist' like me Spent some time in the mountains, fresh air and all...Moldavia - nice peaceful villages and nice food, but too many beggars and thieves roaming on the streets... |

![]() Here's my humble list: Bulgaria: It was back in 1991 I was in Bulgaria and it wasn't exactly in a good shape. I don't remember too much of it but it was very poor at the time. I remember my mother being quite disappointed with her father's country of origin, I guess she was expecting what she had heard from him (which was obviously before Communism). The people were nice though and I heard from people who've been there recently that it has changed so much. Would love to go again, possibly for skiing. Yugoslavia: Again, was there back in 1991 -hence the name of the country and the fact that I don't remember too much of it. Yugoslavia was in far better shape than Bulgaria, though the war was just breaking out while we were there and we had a bit of a hard time getting out of the country. Nice people, some beautiful scenery and locales. Great meatballs in Nis. My mother was far more impressed with her mother's country. ![]() Italy: I've been to Italy multiple times and every time I was there I loved it. Every single city, be it Trieste, Venice, Florence, Garda, San Marino (well okay, it's not exactly Italy), Rome, Brindisi, Lake Como, etc. I love the people, the food, the sights, the language, the culture... I mean, Italy couldn't have been any nicer, really. Amongst all the areas I have seen Florence takes the cake. One of the places I absolutely want to see again. And again. France: Besides being to Paris, Nice, the Riviera, and such popular areas I have also been to some of the more obscure places in France such as the beautiful medieval town of Yvoire, in the region of Savoie (Savoy), Evian-les-bains, Tonons, and one of my favorite places of all time: Annecy. I cannot judge France so easily as a "foreigner" as I grew up with a very frankophone culture through my father and stepmother and the French culture never really shocks me in any way. I love the country and the language. Parisians could have been a little more hospitable, but in all other places people are real nice. Maybe if I were a Parisian I'd be a mean bastard too, I wouldn't want anyone in Paris even for visiting, it's too damn crowded. ![]() Monaco: Yes, it's a country in its own right, so. I love Monaco and the whole 6000 citizens of it, or how many they are nowadays. I plan to be a Monaco citizen in the future, actually. Life is sweet without tax. Monte Carlo is one of the most beautiful cities too and has the most chic casinos possible. If you've been to Vegas, forget whatever you have seen. Spain: I have only been to the Catalan part, stayed in Begur for about a month in the family property so it was a very "local" experience, Begur not being an exactly touristic place -or at least the part I stayed in. Of course I visited Barcelona, which was only an hour away and fell in love with it. It's certainly one of the cities I could live in. I cannot imagine anyone who wouldn't appreciate Gaudi after being to Barcelona. I have also been to Roses, and some other parts of Costa Brava |
