#5 looks like a monkfish. I didn't imagine they would have those in the Pacific.
#8 & #9 look like abyss fish. Looks like there is going to be an undertow in the area for a long time. Impressing.

I've heard not so long ago that a small scientific Japanese submarine discovered a monstrous fish about 10m long. They said it looked like a shark but wasn't excatly a shark.

Giant squids, which live as deep as 2,000m, have been found dead ashore in the coasts of Northern Spain and other world regions.
The largest giant squid ever found was nearly 60 feet long and weighed 2,000 pounds. A giant squid in Australia ![]()

Hmmm... Some of those look like they've came from H.P. Lovecraft's novels. Pretty cool stuff!

The Orange Roughy, Hoplostethus atlanticus, is a popular fish species in Australia. It is a deep sea fish and not particularly good looking.

Maybe you mean the monkfish which is very ugly but which is much appreciated for the texture of its meat.
![]() In Spanish it is known as rape. A similar fish but which is found only in the sea abyss is known in Spanish as rape de medianoche which translates literally to "midnight monkfish"; but its real name in English is humpback anglerfish. ![]() This weird looking fish belongs to the family of the Melanocetidae, to which the monkfish does not belong. They are, however, related by their similar forms, under the classification of the Lophiiformes. Some weird looking fishes here: Fish! melanocetus - Google Image Search
