I would rather follow the protectionnist campaigns and economic patriotism (there was a "Buy French!" campaign here in the 1990s) than boycott Israeli and Muslim products.

For instance I see no point in boycotting oil and petroleum from the Middle East when there is hardly enough oil on the French soil for more than 100 cars...

I disagree. The companies in the list seem to be there mostly because being guilty of investing into Israel. There's lots of countries in the world (actually most of them) that I don't especially wish to support that are being corrupted, acting uncivilized, oppressing someone or harboring potentially harmful elements, but it's a bit hard if you have to boycott every company that invests in any one of them.

If it's about Palestinians, I must honestly say that I don't care for them; with our own policies we have made them to be an unsolvable problem, and for me it's largely irrelevant whether someone else oppresses Palestinians or if the Palestinians oppress someone else or fight with each other. Agreed. And every Nationalist minded person should always choose the more local and domestic over international when there is no dramatic difference in quality/price.

I was also thinking of protecting the environment.

The article may be somewhat populistic, but at least it should be clear that the Russian state-oligarchy will not hesitate to use their energy as a weapon in power politics. Replacing one dependency with another one is not a solution to dependency.
