Interesting article on Russian Inventions.

I never knew they had nvented the Rdio, TV, jeans and BMW cars.

Hehe! I was just reading something a Slovak wrote on the web - Marconi and Popov have to compete with a THIRD radio inventor now; Joseph Murgas!!!!

Hehe....here is just one example - Slovaks didn't invent parachute. A Slovak did patent it in early 20th century of what we know now as modern parachute , but the first one who made and used a parachute was a Croat Faust Vrančić(Vranchich) in 17th century when he jumped from a tower in Venice. He called it 'Homo Volans' in Latin.

However the first one who drew it was of course Leonardo da Vinci.

Interesting, but the Iron Gorges stuff is more so. Do you know it? It's where the Danube bends about near Rumania and Bulgaria, Lepenski Vir is one of the sites. All under water now, because of stupid dam projects. It's one of those contact sites where the fate of Europe was made. Near Eastern agriculturalists met our Northern European Hunter Gatherers here, and odd stuff resulted...
