Pope Benedict XVI Blessed Yushchenko and Ukrainian Nation

Oleksander Zinchenko, state secretary and special envoy of the Ukrainian President, took part in the ceremony of the inauguration of Pope Benedict XVI, during which he congratulated the Pontiff on behalf of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.

According to the Secretariat of the Ukrainian President, for his part, the Pope blessed the Ukrainian President and the Ukrainian nation.

In addition, O.Zinchenko held talks with President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski, FRG Chancellor Gerhard Shroeder, President of Malta Edward Fenek-Adami, chiefs of Russian, American, Serbian, and Moroccan delegations.

I see, so the ones not in cahoots with Rome are not worthy enough to be blessed It's all politics

It was the his dream to visit Russia, unfortunately he wasn't able to. I have a feeling this had as much to do with him being Polish as it did with him being Catholic (though this probably goes hand in hand), politics as Vojvoda said.

It's disappointing to see that he visited practically every corner of the earth, yet he could never visit a place so close to home, with such similar problems and culture...

I'm asking this out of curiosity, does that mean that though you are outside the Catholic Church and don't obey to the laws of the Roman Pontiff you are in communion with rome?
What happened to "extra ecclasiam nulla salus" ("no salvation outside the church", being the church the Roman Catholic one)???
