Default Forum Stirpes hacked
Today, when I tried to access Forum Stirpes I was redirected to a page of a turkish hacker.

I do not know how it happend since it seems that everything is normal now. Even so, I would appreciate if anyone from the staff board could explain us what really happens and if there are by any chance the danger of that hacker being in the forum or to have access to ther type of info, namely PM, IP address, whatever.

Greetings Eurovox,
from what I know, the hacker was a Turk, American too I believe. I got on in the morning and two of the stafff members messaged me immediately on MSN letting me know.

they didnt actually hack the database, this was a minor hack from what I imagine. The member has been banned and so has his IP from what we know NO private information was acquired from any of the members.
I have been discussing with some of the moderators way to increase security.

Yes, I noticed and fixed it. I've just realeased a thread in the staff area letting them know how to fix it in case it happens again, I'm short of time these days, so I can't fix it for good now. I can explain to you how they did it through PMs, but I'd prefer not to say it in public. In any case, the hacker had no access whatsoever to other types of information.

This was not a hack, but someone used a security hole in the TopStats feature and implemented a redirect link. No one ever touched your database in this case or got any personal information. You should turn the TopStats off as long as you don't have changed the code.
