On an unrelated note, a free and open source software to create PDF files would be nice.

Gone are the days for using LaTeX code to convert to PS and then PDF, and LyX requires much other additional code/software to be installed with it.

Thank you, it looks useful. Still, it is more for converting to PDF than to actually create (from scratch) PDF files.
