Which are your favorite TV Shows?

Mine would probably be Rome from HBO, which I've enjoyed a lot. Just a shame it got canceled.

I don't watch much TV lately, but when I was younger I used to like "Parker Lewis Can't Lose". Seen from the current perspective you can sense a strong early 90's feel to it... which isn't bad of course.

I dont watch TV either, because of the low quality of most of the content.
Rome isnt broadcast in Denmark, anyway. So to get quality content, such as Rome and other good shows, I buy it on DVD.

Funny. I can't think of the 90s as a decade with a feeling attached to it. More like some lousy transitional years. I guess that that's probably because of my own personal experience through those years, which started with a marked event to me, that lasted through that decade and the first half of this decade.

Anyway, I don't watch TV at all. Only in the 90s I used to be an addict to TV news. I used to watch one TV news channel, and then contrast them with news on other channels and even on the teletext. I also used to read the news from a minimum of two newspapers.

Well, there are some things I consider typical of the 90's, such as dressing button shirts with squares on it while at the same time introducing its "endings" inside your Texan trousers (which obviously should include a belt ), short trousers above your knees, sleveless black jackets, Texan jackets, long white socks with coloured stripes, English shoes, etc. Regarding hair styles, it was common to see men having short hair on the sides and longer at the top, usually defined with a classy line, and women an artificial curly hair with added voluminity, usually with a fringe.

All this may well belong to the 80's too, but as I did not live them properly my knowledge is limited. All I know is that since the 00's all what I named above disappeared almost by magic, just like the "Tazos", the Panini cartoon sticker collections, the Bollycaos, line skating in the street, the cassette-walkman, the music recopilatories with "Mix" on the title and a large etc.

To all this... shall we open a 90's nostalgics thread?

I really enjoyed the Rome series but I could imagine some Stirpes members finding the actors far too northern (or eastern) looking. It has an almost entirely British and Irish cast; Caesar is from Belfast, Octavia from Tipperary and Mark Antony from Somerset in this version.

Ive noticed most of the actors are Irish and British, yes. I dont think Nordic-looking people were absent in Rome, but they are overrepresented at best in the series. Could have been far more realistic, but I think its really up to what actors the directors know they can use, and then nationality and phenotype comes second (as look they could pass for Roman). To me, its just details though, but I could see how it would be a bit annoying for a Roman (or Italian, or whatever) to see.
