France no longer Catholic
Le Monde de Religions declared that France is no longer Catholic; the number of atheists rises from 23 percent in 1994 to 31 percent, currently. ![]() A leading French religious magazine declared on Tuesday that France is “no longer a Catholic country” after a poll indicated that the number of French Catholics dropped by 30 percent in the past decade. "In its institutions, but also in its mentalities, France is no longer a Catholic country," wrote Frederic Lenoir, editor-in-chief of Le Monde des Religions. In the early 1990s, French Catholics made up over 80 percent of the population. According to the poll, they currently make up 51 percent, and only half of these said they believe in God. The latter said they retained a Catholic identity because it was family tradition. Meanwhile, the number of atheists rose from 23 percent in 1994 to 31 percent. Only 10 percent of the French population attends church regularly. Still, Catholicism remains by far the dominant religion in France. The poll shows that Muslims make up four percent of the population, Protestants, three percent, and Jews, one percent. Source: Spero News | France no longer Catholic

From my experience most of these polls put Agnostics and (Pan)Deists under the same category as Atheists. If one doesn't declare as a member of one of the larger Abrahamic sects they simply label him 'Atheist'.

Atheists usually don't care a bit about the preservation of their nation or culture.

Very right, Peter. There are even fewer authentic Catholics in France than 10%. Most of the Catholics follow the conciliar liturgia.

Same as in Italy. More than a rough half of the self-proclaimed catholics are actually just the catholic branch of the communist party, or faithful freemasons. A man interviewed at a meting of (nominally) Christian Democrats declared proudly that more than 30% of them were freemasons. In my town they are said to exists four freemasonic lodges, one would be lead by a prominent christian-democrat politician and a prominent member of the catholic community. At this point I prefer atheist to such individuals. Not all atheists are actually multicultists.

Liberal Catholic is an oxymoron. Liberalism is a satanic doctrine which promises to the man a false "freedom" without God.

It´s the truth Prometheus, but many follow this lie. And going out from the matrix is difficult, extremely difficult. Respect the liturgy, I have followed the Novus Ordo for being the unique posibility, I think that soon I could have another possibility but now I don´t have another possibility.

There was a time when France was called the Eldest Daughter of the Church, and our Kings known as "Rex Christianissimus".
