I can't speak for every single case. However, within the context of Christianity then I don't see any reason against it being real.

The traditions of the Irish people are the oldest of any race in Europe north and west of the Alps, and they themselves are the longest settled on their own soil - Edmund Curtis (A History of Ireland: From Earliest Times to 1922) The Irish are one of the most ancient nations that I know of at this end of the world, and are from as mighty a race as the world ever brought forth. For it is certain that Ireland hath had the use of letters very anciently and long before England; that they had letters anciently is nothing doubtful, for the Saxons of England are said to have their letters and learning, and learned men, from the Irish. - Edmund Spenser (writer, and British Government Official in Ireland, AD 1596). The renaissance began in Ireland seven hundred years before it was known in Italy. And Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland, was at one time the metropolis of civilisation. - Arsene Darmesteter, Professor of Old French and Literature Ireland can indeed lay claim to a great past; she can not only boast of having been the birthplace and abode of high culture in the fifth and sixth centuries . . . but also of having made strenous efforts in the seventh and up to the tenth century to spread her learning among the German and Romance peoples, thus forming the actual fountain of our present continental civilisation. - Heinrich Zimmer, Professor of Celtic and Sanskrit, Member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences |

Well I actually I don't see why, within the context of Christianity, should exist the Stigmata as every thing was accomplished by Christ in the cross so that his sufferings should not be suffered for anyone else;the purpose of his self-sacrifice was that no other sacrifice would be needed ; Jesus plan was that no one should suffer like he did so if the Stigmata are real, I do not think that come from a Holy source as is like saying that Jesus calvary was not enough and his sufferings hace to be repeated from time to time ... do not you tthink so?

''Famous stigmatists include Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint John of God, and Saint Marie of the Incarnation. The most famous stigmatist of the twentieth century was Saint Pio of Pietrelcina'' (18871968)''
Yes I think it is, but if you need some medical explanations the most logical one is: cases on how '' Twins'' could have impact, such as pains if one of them are exposed to certain types of trauma. I think it works the same way

About stygmata: it has not been proved by science, therefore it's all a big hoax. Anything that science fails to explain simply cannot exist. See "God" or "life purpose". |

Because He is the son of God.

If we first assume that everything that can be proven by science in the end has to be bound by the laws of nature. As a theist I then have to assume that the laws of nature are created by God. If God can not interfer in his own creation Christianity and the whole concept of God falls with it. So my answer is that stigmata as well as other miracles are fully possible. |

I allow the theroretical possibility of that, but I am at the same time extremely suspicious as to individual cases of such phenomena.
