Pope's private secretary warns of Islamization of Europe

BERLIN (AP) – Pope Benedict XVI's private secretary warned of the Islamization of Europe and stressed the need for the continent's Christian roots not to be ignored, in comments released Thursday.

''Attempts to Islamize the west cannot be denied,'' Monsignor Georg Gaenswein was quoted as saying in an advance copy of the weekly Sueddeutsche Magazin to be published Friday.

''The danger for the identity of Europe that is connected with it should not be ignored out of a wrongly understood respectfulness,'' the magazine quoted him as saying.
Gaenswein also defended a speech Benedict gave last year linking Islam and violence, saying it was an attempt by the pontiff to ''act against a certain naivety.''

Muslims around the world protested against Bendict's speech, with churches set ablaze in the West Bank and a hard-line Iranian cleric saying the pope was united with U.S. President George W. Bush to ''repeat the Crusades.''

An Italian nun was also gunned down in a Somali hospital where she worked, and the Vatican expressed concern that the attack was related to reaction to the pope's remarks.

Recently, the influential archbishop of Cologne, Joachim Meisner, said in a widely-publicized interview on Deutschlandfunk radio that the ''immigration of Muslims has created a breach in our German, European culture.''

I'm at odds with the apparent passivity with which Rome has been meeting the Muslim invasion of Europe.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that the Catholic Church lost its grip as the spiritual guidance and repository that she is supposed to be, since the reforms following Vatican II Council. It is also undeniable the Masonic infiltration that has undermined it since.

On the other hand, there are clear signs of a return to a more conservative stance, especially since the start of the papacy of Benedict XVI.

It would be naïve to think that The Vatican would react against the invasion under the current circumstances. One should not forget that The Vatican has been the most powerful and efficient machine of diplomacy in World's History.

So it is possible that it is not yet the right moment to counter-attack using the full artillery. And I would argue that in effect, it is not.

Think about it. If the Catholic Church rose with a strong voice to oppose the Islamic invasion of Europe at this right moment, it would be the decadent and liberal European society that would single out the Church as intolerant, reactionary, fanatic, obscurantist and what not.

It is not the moment yet, but these are signs that it is coming close.

I think that people in common fail to see a couple of things about this issue.

1) What the Pope is defending is more than the Christian(Catholic) faith and the Church. He is defending the Western way of life. I think that many people deying they would be Christian, is infact Christian in their moral values and ways of living. They just fail too see it.

2) People in common fail to see what the effects of a bigger Muslim influence in Europe would look like. I´m not going to paint the picture here. It´s been described in several threads already, and I think people here a painfully aware of that scenario.

3) The historical facts. The Christian, mainly Catholic, countries and leaders and with them associated have repeatedly throughout history fought back the Muhammedans from our borders. It´s not a paranoid and fictional threat, it´s a historical fact! But like the marxists they have changed tacticts and carry out their acts by means of infiltration and cultural revolution as their main weapons.

As with massimmigration in general, I believe in making people in common aware of what we are expecting.

If the actions of Rome go accompanied by an ecumenical approach to Evangelical and Calvinist sects, then I argue that the values defended will be those of the westernism, not the Christian values of Europe.

But I don't know the position of Benedictus XVI on this matter. Anyone?

Well, recently he started to issue statements in a more "Traditionalist" line concerning many issues. One of them was that "other Christians" are not true churches. It was directed chiefly to Protestants and a milder tone was used in relation to the Eastern Orthodox Churches.

There is also a neo-connish faction in the Vatican represented by the Secretary of the State of Vatican Tarcisio Bertone. they are quite close to a Westernist approach.

Let us hope that faction won't prevail and truly Traditionalist forces will come into prominence.

As a catholic I am very agree with Mynydd, it isn´t the moment, there is too hate and anti-clericalism against the church, mainly in mass media and politicians, but when they realise that they can´t do anything against the islamic monster, they ask mercy to something.
Three years of atheism and agnosticism are a deep weight for the former Christian Europe.
