Today I was at a seminar on psychology of communication and such stuff. The party said I had to go and I went. It was not boring, though. And some facts I heard there I had never heard before. For example that
1) 80% of people readily follow orders (if these are given by somebody authoritative for them).
2) And that among words most important for Belarusians is the word (attention!) “order” (= Ordnung).
Heh.

there was a psychological research that had men dress up as security guards and give people orders at shopping centers. over half of the people obeyed. Another did the same but without uniforms and the rate of people that obeyed was still quite high.

It is a double-edged sword and can prove detrimental in situation when the societal order is turned upside down and false values reign supreme. Then people obey false "authorities".
