Sure, the problem is that when someone says Slovenian music people would think of music which is more typical for Gorenjska region and is simmilar to that in Austria, this is what I'm talking about for example - http://youtube.com/watch?v=mxUiAiCs1es
This has also been popularized by all kinds of turbo-folk bands which are popular in Slovenia at the moment, like Atomik Harmonik and is has spread all over Slovenia.. It's basicaly a degeneration of Gorenjska folk music imho. But as I said, if there's a party or picnic in Slovenia, this music would most likely be played, regardless of region in which it takes place. Anyway, tbh I still like it more than stupid American or Balkan (by that I mean Turkish sounding turbo-folk from Balkans which is popular by immigrants here) music. Prekmurje is quite different than rest of Slovenia, it had completly different history for 1000 years, different language and in general a strong regional identity, even though it's a very small region. In 1919 it even was a republic for 5 days. Some more music from Prekmurje... Ne de mi več zrasla travica zelena Moje Prekmurje Enjoy.. |

Sviđa mi se glazba. Nekako je umirujuća
