No, it's a symbol that, in many ways, resembles the Swastika. It's called a triskelion as you said.

Isn't it another version of a solar symbol?

All of these spiral type designs tend to be lumped into the category of solar symbols, but I don't think it's original symbolism is known.

This triskelion is often used instead of swastika by different NS groups...

Indeed and a sort of clockwise Triskel was in use in the Langemarck ss division.

I know Bretons like to use it as a Celtic symbol however it is likely to be even older than Celts themselves and not specifically "Celtic".

Man island and Sicily

If you've ever noticed on some churches and cathedrals, one can see Triskelions (as well as solar wheels, btw).

I don't see anything at all here to be honest, just the text "Triskelion?"

The inside part of the gates of the Cathedral of Valencia, show two swastikas, one on each door.

What takes me to the question: are there any old/ancient swastikas in Germany? You can see a number here.

Thank you all for your answers. I for one have never considered it a swastika. I was discussing Celtic Swwastikas with a friend and he said the triskelions etc are just forms of swastikas.

The Basque lauburu is not an ancient symbol, but a modern invention as such.

I've seen all over the internet pages in Spanish, English, and other stating such or such about its antiquity. Not a chance.

The very word lauburu, which some pretend to derive from a composed Basque word, derives from the Latin labarum and it referred to the banners carried by the Roman legions.

No such symbol is known from antiquity. The earliest representation known dates from the XVIth century.

But it has been found on modern Basque territory discoidal stones like the ones that I posted earlier, and in old times it was assumed that they were Basques for being in that territory. Overlooking the fact that the territory was invaded by the Basques at the end of the Roman Empire, taking advantage on the vacuum of power and of protection left by the decline of Rome.

"lauburu"
