In this clip from the Swedish program "Time Out," Robert Gustavsson demonstrates what he calles "The Finnish intoxication" ("den finska fyllan").

He explains that there are five stages. It begins with Silence. Then comes a rush of over-bearing Joviality, followed by Melancholy and Sorrow, which gives way to Anger, only to end in the fifth and final stage, which is Coma.

He begins by describing it as "very very very... magnificent". Wilpuri, you seem to think that it is quite funny?

Did you not find it funny? I can attest to its accuracy.

Is he actually speaking Finnish, or does he pretend that he speaks Finnish?

I wonder if it is possible to identify such a character pattern, reproduced on internet forums.

He's pretending, although he slips in a couple of real words, or at least tries to. He says "sumalainen", which close enough to "suomalainen", meaning "a Finn" or "Finnish". He also uses Finnish curse words.

I suggest we attempt it by logging on drunk en masse.

Well, no need to go as far as Finland. In France we have this limpid expression to qualify a state of heavy drunkness: "drunk like a Pole" ("soûl comme un polonais").
