Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran

ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.

Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.

The attack would be the first with nuclear weapons since 1945, when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Israeli weapons would each have a force equivalent to one-fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb.

Under the plans, conventional laser-guided bombs would open “tunnels” into the targets. “Mini-nukes” would then immediately be fired into a plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce the risk of radioactive fallout.

“As soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished,” said one of the sources.

The plans, disclosed to The Sunday Times last week, have been prompted in part by the Israeli intelligence service Mossad’s assessment that Iran is on the verge of producing enough enriched uranium to make nuclear weapons within two years.

Israeli military commanders believe conventional strikes may no longer be enough to annihilate increasingly well-defended enrichment facilities. Several have been built beneath at least 70ft of concrete and rock. However, the nuclear-tipped bunker-busters would be used only if a conventional attack was ruled out and if the United States declined to intervene, senior sources said.

Israeli and American officials have met several times to consider military action. Military analysts said the disclosure of the plans could be intended to put pressure on Tehran to halt enrichment, cajole America into action or soften up world opinion in advance of an Israeli attack.

• Natanz, where thousands of centrifuges are being installed for uranium enrichment
• A uranium conversion facility near Isfahan where, according to a statement by an Iranian vice-president last week, 250 tons of gas for the enrichment process have been stored in tunnels
• A heavy water reactor at Arak, which may in future produce enough plutonium for a bomb

Israeli officials believe that destroying all three sites would delay Iran’s nuclear programme indefinitely and prevent them from having to live in fear of a “second Holocaust”.

This article is not the newest, the site I linked is a typical FRG university site, often they show texts in English too. It is pro-Jewish and pro-Palestinian, nut not pro-Israel. When you have a closer look you see it is often enough Jewish authors unveiling Israeli actions and criticizing her occupation policy. I often enough read about the overwhealming influence pro-zionists allegedly have in our media, I simply can not verify this. Of course, Merkel and her neo-con bunch are Bush's cheerleaders, but they are a minority, especially their social-democratic coalition partner is anti-US and very critical towards Israel, especiallly the left wing. For me it does not matter there is a faction sympathizing for Israel and another one sympathizing for the Palestinians since both are anti-German and push the EU constitution and many other laws tageted against native Europeans and enforcing the destruction of our people and culture, and that is the underlying problem.

I would be suprised if Turkey were to give Israel consent to use Turkish airspace.I've recently come back from Istanbul ,judging from the TV news coverage,there seems to be a strong bond between the two countries.
Israel's nuclear arsenal is completely illegal anyhow - they should have had sanctions imposed on them years ago, but no.......

Yes,Turkish polititians seem to visit Iran quite frequently and vice versa.Many Turkish friends tell me that Turkey would side with Iran if the latter were attacked.

About Turkey, it has indeed a strategical alliance with Israel, it is even the best Muslim friend of Israel (due to the traditional Arab-Turkish rivality).
But as Erdogan probably does not want to be overthrown he will not let the Israelis use his airspace to bomb Iran, just like he criticized Israeli "state terrorism" during Lebanon war (and various Gaza military operations) and did not let the Americans use Turkish airspace during Iraq war (though Turkey is a member of NATO). Turkey now looks like a democracy and public opinion - overwhelmingly nationalist and islamist, hence anti-Israeli and anti-American - is taken into account.

Israeli jets will probably fly over pro-American Jordania and American-occupied Iraq, or perhaps violate Syrian airspace, as anyway a hypothetical Israeli nuclear strike would result in a regional war in which el-Assad's regime would be involved.

Actually Israeli survival in the Middle-East - although I am wholly anti-Zionist - is something I really admire. Look how these 6 millions of Jews make fear hundreds of millions of Arabs. Israel is an example of how a nationalist state, its diplomacy and its defence policy should be ruled (at least the 40 first years of existence). Their motto is the end justifies the means, and it would also be mine if I ruled an endangered Nation.
I don't think they are crazy at all. For instance look at the Iranian problem from a Jewish point of view. You have the leader of the most powerful neighbouring Nation who says he wants to wipe you off the map. And now this Nation wants to get nuclear weapons. Furthermore, you have no strategic depth - unlike your enemy - and you know that, while your enemy would survive nuclear war, you would not. If you want to survive, what do you do, huh ? Do you allow him to get his mass destruction weapons ?
Tsahal and Mossad leaders are far from being crazy guys or idiots. Israeli nuclear arsenal (200 nuclear weapons if I'm not mistaken) would probably send Iran back 500 years earlier. But Iran would still survive. However it would take "only" 10, maybe 15, nuclear warheads to destroy anyone and anything lying in the Zionist-occupied areas. Had I been the Israeli PM I would already have struck Iran.

While I won't suprised of Israel made an agressive move againist Iran I don''t think they would be dumb enough to use nukes. Theobald, Iran and Israel cannot be compared from the military point of view. Israel is infinitely stronger than Iran, no matter how smaller its territory is. Both in conventional and in nuclear capabilities. Iran is not threatening Israel in any way, it is the other way around.

Even if Ahmadinejad had really said that Israel must be wiped off the map (it is not sure whether he said that or it was a media distortion, some say he referred just to the Zionist regime), his words mean nothing if he has no capabilities of doing so. I can say anything, for example that I am going to beat the hell out of, let's say, Mike Tyson, but what does it mean? What if the president of Western Samoa said that the United States of America should be "wiped off the map"....?

And Iran has no nuclear weapons, will have no in the near future, and even if they acquired one nuclear bomb, they have no delivery system to bomb Israel. Israelis would immediately know (Mossad agents would learn it) if Iran had at least one nuclear warhead, and they would act accordingly (by destroying the military installations or by a retaliatory attack).

What I want to say is that Israel has such a tactical and strategic advantage over Iran that Iran destroying Israel is not possible at this moment (I read an artcle in the Jersualem Post saying: "Iran cannot destroy Israel"), it is rather in the area of science fiction. If Israel struck Iran with nuclear weapons, which would necessarily include deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents, it would be the worst crime ever committed in the history of mankind. It wouldn't be good for Israel and the world Jewry in the long term.

So I don't think they are going to do it. Because Israeli leaders are no nutcases, they are highly sophisticated manipulators. All they do is to spread paranoia and hysteria among the Israeli population and the Jews around the world, the paranoia about the imminent catastrophe and "new holocaust" by which they are allegedly threatened by Ahmadinejad ("the new Hitler"). They know very well that they are not really threatened by Ahamdinejad, but they constantly must keep tension high in their population. Because living in constant paranoia, fear from "antisemitism" and "new holocaust", has become a way of living in large sections of the woirld Jewry. It has become their factor of cohesion, their raison d'etre. One has the impression that Jews would immediatetely cease to be a distinct people if the outer "threat" vanished. They feed themselves by the so-called anti-semitism.

That what the whole anti-Iranian hysteria is about.
