Moscow Appeared 200 Years Before 1147

Archeologists claim that Moscow is two centuries older than it was customary to think until recently.
Up-to-date research work carried out on the territory of Saint Daniel Monastery through light on some surprising facts.
"The results of this year's work, study of the cultural layer and applying new methods of analysis of the previously found ceramics make us come to the conclusion that there was a large Slavic settlement here in the 10th and perhaps even in the 9th century," – Professor Leonid Belyaev, director of the archeology department of Moscow Institute of Archeology informs.
According to the researcher, none of the earlier discovered old settlements on the territory of Moscow could claim to be the indisputable leader regarding its antiquity.
The digging and research work on the monastery's territory goes on. Recently the archeologists have found the burial place of the Greek archbishop Theotokis (1731-1800), who devoted a considerable part of his life to Russia and died in St. Daniel cloister.

The first archaeolgical site is known from the stone age and later there were some Finno-ugric culture sites still the last Ljalovo culture was removed by Fatjanovo cultere and this by Abashewo. Russians appeared near Moscow river very late - perhaps 200-300 years after Avar invasion into central Europe (6th age) which moved slavic tribes into different directions.
