I think Coon attributed some nordid admixture to turkik tribes from Asia who possessed sporadic light pigmentation; I would rather attribute tokharian influencies who, from what I see from the man of cherchen mummy and the ancient chinese manuscript illustrated in link posted by Lucas Corso where of rather cro-magnonid stock (also called "proto europid" by some)
