Let's not forget the Irish who were said to have the retained the ancient Greek knowledge as well and preserved it for Europeans.

Yes, the Irish monks had preserved some of the classical culture better than the continental Europe, and they spread it throughout Europe form 6th to 9th century, but almost all of it subsequently got lost, God knows why.
Historical facts about these things have nothing to do with the multiculturalism of today. Even if the contribution of the Islamic world had been so immensely great to the European science (and I say there was
some contribution, but not so very great), even if European medieval philosphers owe much to Averroes, all these facts don't in the slightest ways offer any justification for the multiculturalism and destruction of European identities today.
I don't think multiculturalists write any history books of significance, because most of them are half-educated half-literate leftie ideologues. They pick informations from books other people write and interpret it in their own manner. For example, they see in some history book that there existed a certain School of Toledo, where books were translated from Arabic into Latin, and from that they conclude that Europe owes everything to Islamic world. They are obviously not interested to see a larger picture.
