This can not be repeated often enough.
I used to work with a woman who went to Belize on some charity programme to 'help' the natives. She was raped and killed out there in the jungle. The 21st Century is not a magical New Era where you can do as you please - the world's the same as it ever was, regardless of any political ideologies women may espouse that tell them this is not the case.
I would say the same to men wishing to go off 'backpacking' in Borneo or Laos or Kashmir or wherever, but at least their lot would be limited to a
mere beheading by a machete. For a woman alone it doesn't bear thinking about.
And yet they keep going.
