Re: Top 10 most important figures in Europe's history
I always find it hard to debate this sort of topics and it usually takes me to the "What if" path. For example, Juan of Austria is not a very well known man in European history, but perhaps without him leading the forces of the holy league, failure at Lepanto would have happened and who knows who could have stopped the advancement of the Turks in the med. sea.
Hitler is one of the most popular ones, but who knows if he would have been as sucesful or exsisted without Mussolini moving around in Italy. What if the Polish King would have failed at liberating the city of Vienna from the Turkish siege?
Perhaps I just look too much into it, but it's hard to define those 10 individuals who truly sealed Europe's fate.
