In Spain, they are to some extent. It's very racial in a way.
For example, Falangists used to sing a changed version of the Carlist anthem, Oriamendi, as a mockery:
original version
For God, for Motherland and for King
Fought our parents
For God, for Motherland and for King
We shall fight too
We shall fight all together
All together in a union
Defending the flag
Of the Holy Tradition
---
Falangist version
[...]
If your father threw himself out
Straight from a balcony
You would throw yourself too
Only to follow "Tradition"
The most common answer from a Carlist to the question why he was one was: because my father, my grandfather, etc., were too.
The funny thing is that this is, at different levels, true in many Socialists, Communists, Conservatives, etc.

I think I wouldn't mind her in my kitchen at least.

No, you wouldn't.

She was my blind date that night, but as usual with anything female French, my idea of a flirt is to create a polemical situation. Fortunately (for her) there was a Dutch friend with us willing to put a happy ending to the night.
