I think this is an extremely hard question, I am going to have to think this one through carefully. First, it's really hard to compare ancient Generals to newer generals, and it's hard to compare guys like Caesar to Rommel. Caesar wasn't always a very smart man, but he changed the political spectrum of Rome, while Rommel, was just a very smart general who knew how to use terrain to his advantage.
Alexander was wise, but his arrogance was a downfall I believe. I am deffinately leaning towards Napoleon though.
